Greetings friends! This is my very 1st post on my brand new blog. This blog will be about my simple way of living as well as details on the conversion of a Ford E350 cargo van into a very comfortable camper van, in which I plan to travel in for at least the winter months (November thru March)preferably to either Florida or Arizona, with a little New Mexico and Texas thrown in! I am a minimalist, and truly believe that LESS IS MORE! I am currently living in a 6 x 12 cargo trailer that I bought new and have converted into a very comfortable home! I have lived in this trailer just over 4 years now, year round, thru freezing cold and blistering heat and everything in between! My trailer is insulated, has 30amp electric, and I have 316 watts of solar power! It has ZERO windows, for absolute STEALTH! It has a single axle and is very easy to pull. It has double barn doors in the rear, a single roof vent, and a 13k BTU roof air, which is way to much BTU for 72 square feet!! Currently, it is parked in the country on my best friends property, and I am plugged in to shore power. He has just over 5 acres of grass, which I mow for him in exchange for my rent. I also pay him $50. a month for my electric, which I doubt if I use half that, but its all good!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am 61 years old and semi retired about 4 years ago. My past life is exactly that----in the past!! Again, I live simply, and can do so on less than $7800. a year! And that includes everything! Food, vehicle insurance, license plates, utilities, gas, clothes. I am unemployed by choice--no more rat race for me! I pick up work off the internet that can generate about $400. a month and have a standing agreement with an Alabama based global firm that generates $4500. to $7500. every year, and all of that in about an 8 week period of time!! All totaled, that's more money than I need to live VERY comfortably! And because I'm only 61 I am not yet drawing social security. However, I plan to take early retirement at 62 and will likely just bank that money! So far, I have been very fortunate and experienced good health! I pray that continues for as long as possible! I try to take care of myself...I don't smoke, don't drink, don't do any drugs! I eat what I want, and love fresh fruit and a nice healthy salad now and then!------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I am as I said currently stationary, and that is because my mother, who just turned 94, is still alive but is in a skilled nursing facility. I will not leave as long as my mom is alive. However, the day she is in the ground I will be gone before the sun sets!!!! I have 2 brothers and 2 step sisters, and I care absolutely nothing for any of them! I cut them all off a short time ago, and have no regrets! Once I leave town, I will be changing my cell phone number, so they won't even be able to text me! They do not approve of my lifestyle, and have been vocal about it to everyone.....everyone except me!!! Damn hypocrites!! Anyway, that's about it for now.
